THE SEVEN LETTERS: Christ's Message to His Church

Here is another small book on the same subject as Barclay's Letters to the Seven Churches (see p. 809), Written by an English author, it covers the same ground, and in general draws the same conclusions. In considering what the letters meant to the churches to whom they were first addressed, this author writes more fully and evangelistically on what they mean for us today. He also provides a more generous background and introduction to his subject by expanding the first Chapter of Revelation as well as Chapters Two and Three. The verses to be explained are printed together consecutively at the beginning of each chapter, which is a big help. He uses his own translation into modern idiomatic English. The style is clean and vivid and is likely to be memorable to the reader.
