GAY PAGAN

The author of Gentlemen -- The Regiment! in a new vein. The background is Cornwall in the time of the smugglers and their frequent brushes with the law, the story that of a lovely girl in her search for reality, first with a London lover, then with a fanatical preacher. A good tale, with meticulous attention to characterization, and with less of the cloak and sword atmosphere than would be expected. Not for too general an audience.
