KIRKUS REVIEW

Intricats family pattern in a lightly spiced picture of changing eras and their comedy of manners. Pleasant if slightly slow motion for these stream-lined days. Aunt Auda assumes the female prerogative of finger-in-all-pies, and from late Victorian to present times, she rules her family and friends, often going against the tide and achieving good results and bad. Entertaining in his own, particular manner,is Humphrey Pakington, whose pictures of English village life have won a loyal following.
