This writer's second pseudonymous, slightly more subdued entry in the high-powered suspense field features Pierre Cavell, ""allergic to authority"" as he investigates the theft and averts the use of deadly phials from a bacteriological warfare installation in England. The murders of two of the personnel, the obvious leakage of more than the killer virus to Moscow, an imposture, and Cavell's personal vulnerability- his wife- as well as the threat to the world at large, provide a more than urgent, virulent story.
