THE MAN ON THE BRIDGE

Black's first over here--what kept him so long?--reluctantly returns Peter Munro to the Albanian-Greek limboland where he had witnessed the death of his agent and teammate, Stephan Aroso. The incident left Munro with considerable unresolved terrors and everpresent suspicions--of the department head he works for, of the girl, supposedly Stephan's wife, who goes with him to see the locus of his demise on a bridge. But then she notices that his grave is much too big for a man said to have been cremated. Nor will she accept the fact of his death. . . .
