An autobiography of a professor of medicine (University of Kansas) -- not in the chatty family physician strain, but a simple, honest and critical discussion of medicine and its many ramifying social and ethical problems. His personal background, education and training; the problems of the physician, types of doctors and patients; today's medical problems, new fads and trends, his own slate for socialized medicine. Readable enough, but it is a much traveled road and there have been other and better books.
