Bangwell Putt shares with her creator's Miss Flora McFlimsey a distinct charm, but hers is rowdier and more dilapidated. She is a doll about one hundred thirty years old, lives in a museum in Deerfield, and her story concerns the time she was loaned to another museum for a Christmas exhibit of old and rare objects. ""Perhaps I shall meet some gentleman,"" was this admirable antique's reaction to the change, and she did. It's one of those night-in-the-toy-store plots, with an elegant Christmas Eve Ball to which she is squired by a Hessian soldier. Child-styled print, lovely color work and an old-fashioned appeal.
