AND SO THE WALL WAS BUILT

Adroit weaving together of old Testament incidents into a story of the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, with backward looks at the past, and the story of the original wall, the building of the Temple, and so on. The time of Nehemiah -- and a very real small boy, Caleb, as central figure, give this a sense of story, as the family life, the Sabbath observance, Passover, and the celebration of the finishing of the wall highlight the recapitulation of stories of the past.
