IN THE WORKSHOP OF THE REVOLUTION by I.N. Steinberg

IN THE WORKSHOP OF THE REVOLUTION

By

Publisher: Rinehart

For the average reader, this will be a maze; its appeal is definitely for those whose interest in Russia is deep-rooted. The period is a brief one- from the 1917 Revolution to the Bolshevik victory in 1921. As perhaps sole survivor of the first Soviet Government, and its Commissar of Justice, Steinberg claims that the present government has betrayed the ideals of Revolution and substituted terror for liberation. He covers in painstaking detail all phases of revolution and counter-revolution, sees it as a three-fold struggle, two completed (the revolution against czarism, the revolution against the liberal bourgeois regime)- the third, against Bolshevism, still waging. Greatest value lies in estimates of virtually forgotten figures.
