MICODEMUS HELPS UNCLE SAM

Another Micodemus book -- and one with a purpose. But that does not keep it from being a good story, though with less humor than we have come to expect from Ines Ilegan. This time Nicedemus is using scrap to make airplanes; and Rastus organizes his army; and Clara Bell and Petunia were playing red cross nurses. It took wise old grand-pappy to show them that they could really do a job for Uncle Sam, and have something to show for it at the end. A good opening wedge to show children some of the things they can do to help the scrap drive, and to make money to buy war savings stamps. There is a savings stamp book in a pocket at the book.
