KIRKUS REVIEW

This launches the new ""Read-to-Me"" books, designed to answer the small child's demand at a lower age level than the titles included under Read Aloud section supply. A combination of picture book- slight story content- a bit of music- and a book shaped for sharing with the restless small listener....Wholly new type of text for Inex Hogan, in a story about a baby elephant who is told ""No, no"" so often that he thinks it is his name. Whether he is playing indoors, and getting into mischief- or outdoors and bothering other animals, always he is pursued by the incessant refrain ""No, No"". Children like this paralleling of their own experience and will love the pictures which are good for some chuckles, and which avoid too much of the personalizing aspects.
