STRANGE HARVEST

A family chronicle, set in Boston and Charlestown ""in the '80s, and telling the stories of the seven Hart girls. In episodic treatment, somewhat in the manner of THE SIX MRS. GREENES, the reader gets the detailed picture of their individual and communal lives, with the gossiping neighbors as Greek chorus, supplying the connecting threads between the episodes. Each of the characters catches the reader's sympathy and interest, and the handling of the manners and morals of the times is cleverly done. A book for women, should have a good circulating library distribution.
