EAST OF THE SUN AND WEST OF THE MOON

One can count on a beautiful book from the d'Aulaires, and this promises to be one of their loveliest. They have selected twenty odd Norwegian fairy tales, using the Dasent translation, generally conceded the best. Many old favorites -- and many unfamiliar stories are included. There is an introduction that will be particularly valuable in placing the Norwegian fairy tales and folk tales for teachers and librarians, and in itself, the introduction is a poetic piece of writing.
