The various individuals who made the discoveries and were largely instrumental in the development are given their due and as a human document this is a rather astounding book, with all the details regarding not only the men themselves, and their tremendous gamble, but the fights in and out of courts, experiences with swindlers, successes and failures. Non-technical -- just a good story (though one recognizes the fact that the author is ""bullish"" on copper, for the long haul).
