Brady describes little Owlet's development, encounters, and changing feeding and hunting habits from the soft plop of his mother's ""very first egg"" to an identical soft plop when his own mate lays hers. Close enough but not particularly discerning observation, blurred at times by obtruding cuteness and illustrated on every page with detafied, realistic drawings -- fine black line on white or white on black -- which are not quite inventive enough to justify their number.
