An accomplished biographer now claims as her subject the daring, enigmatic Queen of Egypt. In this somewhat fictionalized biography, Miss Noble recounts the dramatic events in Cleopatra's life from the time she was a brilliant girl of fourteen until her self inflicted death. Here is a portrait of a woman who struggled to fulfill her duties as queen, but could not suppress her love for aesar or Anthony even in the face of her political obligations. One wishes to see more of the golden Alexandria and to know more about the political implications of Cleopatra's actions, but nonetheless, the story, told through rich dialogue and vivid descriptions in a manner suitable for this age group, is one which should hold the interest of young girls.
