Another in this writer's long lineage of notables reconstructs the life of Hungarian Bela Schick who when a boy, after a visit to his doctor uncle, determined to devote his life to the healing of children for whom he had great verstand. Completing his studies, he went to Vienna where he experimented for some time with immunization and developed what would be known as the Schick test which would eventually eliminate diphtheria. A victim of anti-semitism in the post World War I years, he came to America to New York's Mt. Sinai in his middle years and married at that time. A life, more inspirational than interesting... Like a check up,- routine.
