Terminology provides a stumbling block to understanding, in matters theological as well as in other areas. This book is an attempt to provide a reasonable basis of mutual understanding through expanded definitions of words used frequently in any coming together of church members, in any discussion of the position of Christians of any creed or denomination. Historical background, derivation linguistically, usage, all are taken into consideration. The view- point is moderately Protestant -- but not dogmatic nor traditional in an extreme sense. Valuable for Sunday School libraries, for a clergyman's reference shelf; possibly too obvious and oversimplified for theological students.
