ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD: The Story of Plant & Animal Adaptation

This might follow on the heels of Animal Hide and Seek, with the additional virtue of being done in vocabulary simple enough for third and fourth graders to read to themselves (while younger children will listen eagerly). This is her third book- (Travelers All and Up Above and Down Below)- and again a distinguished botanist has been able to convey to children some basic ideas about how plants and animals adapt themselves to climate and natural conditions, in all parts of the world. The pictures-decorative drawings in color for almost every page- are instructive as well.
