PRAIRIE NEIGHBORS

This series of nature books contains a vast amount of information in not too saccharine a form. Although there are stories -- slightly fictionized -- about the animals and wild creatures selected, they are authentic in factual content, and through the stories you get a good range of information about life in whatever medium is selected (meadow, woodland, swamp, stream etc.) Now with Prairie Neighbors, a neglected part of our country comes into its own, with stories of birds, animals, insects characteristic of the section. There is a good bibliography suggesting further material for nature study.
