Korea is so much in the news today that this account of 19 months spent there makes gay, generally entertaining reading, as Irma writes with sparkle and an eye for the ludiorous in foreign living. Her husband was a Major in the Korean Constabulary Training School, and his arrangements for his family are unusual enough to keep Irma in a mad circle of misadventures, with servants, food and meals, and language. It is not all blithe tales; she has much of the non-glamorous side and offers serious thought on the background and future of the baby republic. Amazingly fresh picture.
