This is one of those hand-me-downs from Velda Johnston, only less believable, about Maura who barely escapes death at the hands of the husband she'd known as Tony. Seven years--and one child of six--later, she goes to Florida as a secretary to Bruce Murdoch, one of a large assortment of cousins in the family to which Tony (had?) belonged, bound together by an odd legacy and ill will. One of them has acrobatic eyebrows on pages 44 and 55, calisthenic ones on page 122, and ones that soar on pages 44 and 150 which is the best way to read this kind of book unless you count sheep.
