TOWN WITHOUT GROWN-UPS by Irmengarde Eberle

TOWN WITHOUT GROWN-UPS

This is a more pretentious undertaking than Irmengarde Eberle has previously undertaken, and is not quite so successful, though the purpose back of it is deserving of more success than, perhaps, the substance of the book will give it. Through a story of the children of a small town and of the two young toughs who lead them astray -- and of what happens when responsibility is thrust upon them and they have to run the town without grown-ups, a good deal of the spirit of communal activity and organization is suggested. Democracy in action.
