KIRKUS REVIEW

A year in the life of a pair of mockingbirds, recorded in a flat uninspired manner. In much the same pattern as Mary Cook's Blackie and His Family (see P. 109) it is a blend of fact and fiction, tracing the incidents in the birds' year, and including episodes of bird cooperation against enemies. But where the Cook book is lively, realistic, this is a bit dull, and the children are introduced without adding anything to the story.
