KIRKUS REVIEW

Miss Eberle has done some charming stories with good natural history background. This is her first realistic little girl story -the sort of might-have-happened type of thing. A very real little girl finds her sympathies completely with the pretty little mice that the adults so cruelly kill, so she about releasing the traps, and letting them get the cheese in comfort. Her final sin against the edicts of adults, is to take care of five baby mice, while her mother cleans out the linen closet where their nest had been. It is a cunning story-but it might put ideas in children's minds!
