KIRKUS REVIEW

Clean as a whistle -- and there are numerous Bacheller fans left -- but for the modern it will have a somewhat obsolete feel. You know your market...Freshwater, this tale of Tip Roys, orphaned Vermonter, with a voice -- and a dog -- and an upright upbringing. He tours fairs, in Upper 'York State, he makes useful friends, has mild adventures, rights wrongs, and wins his rewards.
