KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a very beautiful book of unusual photographs of lighthouses, lightships, buoys, etc., with descriptive text giving a comprehensive picture of the various aspects of these guardians of our seaco ast. But there is, in the text, nothing of the human drama, nothing of the stories that make adventure, and the final book emerges as straight information, shorn of much of its interest, for any others than those already fascinated by everything that has to do with the sea.
