The S.E.P. commentator and feature writer, combines his close -ups of figures in present world history, personal impressions and anecdotes, combined with facts behind the scenes, in good robust journalese. Most of the major interviewing was done between 1914 and 1930; Maroosson retired in 1936; so this is not as up-to-the-minute as might be desired. Though some of the figures remain, the conditions have changed. He includes Stinnes, Kreuger, the Japanese emperor, Hindenburg, Mussolini, Kemal Ataturk, Calles, Trotsky, MacDonald, Baldwin, Briand, Clemenceau, Poincare, etc.
