KIRKUS REVIEW

A comfortable family story of the McTavishes and their three children, who come from Scotland to the Oregon coast about 1910. A little mystery, a bit of suspense and adventure make this good material for the newer readers at this age level. Everyday events of a family of unexceptional children who are not called upon to perform great deeds, and a father and mother who have the wit to solve most of the family problems without endangering the children makes refreshing reading.
