WILD LIFE IN DANGER

The plight of many animals and birds indigenous to the United States is a crucial one:- whooping cranes, wood duck, woodcocks, musk ox, grizzlies, walrus- to mention a few. Indiscriminate hunting, the building up of wild areas, and indifference place them in jeopardy until- as a species- they are threatened with extinction. In this review of creatures whose existence is in peril, the author gives a summary review of their appearance, their habits, and steps which are or can be taken to protect them. Short passages from well known writers further support the conviction of conservationists that the natural heritage of a country should be a primary concern of all thoughtful citizens.
