ANIMAL MASQUERADE

Camouflaged birds, beasts and bugs are described and shown in their natural and blending habitats in this slim book that brings some twenty five nearly invisible creatures to view. Among them are the oak toad whose warts look like bark, the bushybacked sea slug whose back is bushy enough for even the choosiest, and mountain sheep that look like the rocks they are grouped against. The texts are brief descriptions of animal disguises and advantages rather than scientific explanations, but the roundup is extensive and informative.
