WHEN GOD WAS MAN by J. B. Phillips

WHEN GOD WAS MAN

Pub Date: Jan. 10th, 1955

Letters to Young Churches, in which Dr. Phillips translated the Epistles into modern language, and its successor The Gospels, reveal an extraordinary ability to state the essential messages of the Christian faith in language that can be understood by all literate people. These books have won him a deservedly large following here as in England. In this new volume, Phillips in seven brief chapters gives a crystal of the meaning of the Incarnation, "" for a Diseased World"", ""The Authority of Truth"", ""A Down- to- Earth Message"", ""Christ's Father and Ours"", ""Stern Warnings"" and ""Spendid Promises"". Under such headings does the author present Jesus, the God who was Man. His message is down to earth, practical, and might well be in great demand.
