NEW FRONTIERS OF THE MIND: The Story of the Duke Experiments

This is the October Book-of-the-Month and as such will have an impetus that its scientific character might otherwise have failed to achieve. Frankly, I can't see a wide popular sale, though anyone interested in developments of psychology or in experiments in psychic fields will find it an essential book to own. Duke University has been in the forefront in its careful research into the fields of supernormal powers of perception. The book traces in meticulous detail the steps of the experiments, the findings. The implications of their discoveries are more revolutionary than the account, though the very soberness and carefulness and restraint of the report gives a note of authenticity to the now indisputable determination of the facts of ""new frontiers of the mind."" The book is timely -- the interest in the subject is widespread among scientists. One could wish the presentation had been a bit more dramatic and colorful, but one must read into it the vast new fields opened up. Must item for schools, colleges, public libraries.
