SCIENCE YEAR BOOK OF 1947

A popular annual, this birdseye view of the year's contribution to science. This compilation began in 1942. Like its predecessors, the current volume tells its story through the medium of magazine articles selected from Colliers, SEP, Scientific American, Atlantic Monthly and others. Twenty eight articles fall into five subject groups:- Physics and Chemistry, Medical Research, Agriculture, Aviation and other sciences. The material is popular enough to interest the average reader and manages in the main to steer clear of the sensational. The article on extra-sensory perception is more intuitive than scientific and one wonders if it belongs here. A handy refresher for the more-than-average reader.
