Alvan, son of the chieftain of the forest people, has some rousing adventures against a background of Caesar's threatening invasion of Britain. With Storm, his fiery stallion, Fury, his ferocious wolfhound, and his faithful friend Bronwyd, seeks the myst of the Forest. He must obtain from then a herd of to help his father fight off the Roman soldiery. The treachery of a neighboring plunges Alvan danger. When he does reach the Guardians, he is impressed by their power will animals, whom they protect from the depredat of semi civilized man. A and his new friends help check Caesar's Initial ad but only for a moment. That moment is enough for them to melt appropriately into the forest of British history.
