EVERYTHING IS THUNDER by J. L. Hardy

EVERYTHING IS THUNDER

By

Publisher: Doubleday, Doran

A rather strange story of an English officer taken prisoner and put into a German Concentration Camp during the war. Ridden by the conviction that he is a coward, he determines to prove to himself that he is not, escapes, kills a guard, gets to Berlin in safety, and is there shielded by a German prostitute, with whom he falls in love. Together, they got to the Dutch frontier, and -- at the moment of freedom -- are trapped, and the girl is killed as she forces him to safety. The love story has a certain poignancy and human simplicity -- the psychological study of the man's regeneration is not wholly convincing.
