HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE

Intended to be a sure-fire handbook on the art of success, this is inadvertently good history. Each chapter has been contributed by a man of distinction in his field, most of whom were young and hopeful in the `20's or `30's and made their lifetime decisions then. The professions range from career diplomacy through every kind of salesmanship and manufacturing to the ministry (""My business is religion"" as this exponent proves). There are executives in charge of everything from brokerages to universities, from labor unions to the Boy Scouts. While they aim at a public of today's young men, the distance between then and now remains largely unabridged if not ignored by the experts here, and there are the perennial staples- pure idealism and hard work- and slogans- ""You Will Succeed... If you Really Want To Succeed"" --""Don't Simmer, Boil:"" But the insights offered into the minds and lives of men who have achieved unqualified success- are interesting and have a time-tested validity.
