Within the limits of probability and persuasion, J. M. Scott, author of the Sea-Wyf and Heather Mary, constructs a story which is as exciting as it is exotic. Set some place in the Pacific, the story deals with two men who have escaped to a remote island for very different reasons--one to create an Eden, the other to find a treasure of pearls. Both men ultimately are disappointed, but there is nothing disappointing in the story which is entertaining to the ironic finish.
