KIRKUS REVIEW

A good bit of advanced science from one of the leaders in the field, in a series of lectures Haldane gave in Holland on the subject of genetics, its history, functions, and application to agriculture, disease and society. For the non-scientist the material is definitely beyond range. There are numerous chemical formulae, detailed investigations, although Haldane's name assures the volume a place in school, college and technical libraries. Biochemistry and pigments; genetics and their place in human abnormalities and their transmission (or the reverse) through genes; formal genetics. Definitely for the scientific market.
