KIRKUS REVIEW

Philadelphia and the Republican machine -- portraits in city politics through a succession of interviews with district leaders and ward bosses. The first quarter of the book gives the set up; the balance is concerned with personalities, and gets frankly a bit repetitious and dull. Should sell better in and around Philadelphia than elsewhere, though the machinery is fairly typical.
