In their third comic adventure, the BroBots and their cousins must save a “Snow White”–inspired pop star.

The three BroBots, a team of lovably goofy robots that have the superpower to join together to form a Voltron-esque superbot, have met up with their cousins Barbara AnnDroid and Mary AnnDroid to go see beloved pop princess Starlite in concert. Shenanigans ensue when the BroBots first realize that they misplaced the tickets and then are separated from their impatient cousins. When the group reunites, they discover that Starlite—a manga-imagined version of Disney’s depiction of Snow White—has been poisoned and is in a deep sleep. The quintet must battle a not-too-scary interplanetary villain, the Moonster, to then save the day and ensure that the show will go on. In addition to his prolific career writing comics, Torres has a background in writing media tie-ins, the spirit of which percolates through this peppily episodic offering that, like an animated show, is jam-packed with action although not particularly substantive. The panels are accessibly large and as brightly colored as a box of crayons, peppered with dialogue filled with puns and wordplay sure to elicit chuckles from younger readers and emerging manga aficionados. This installment stands alone well and could comfortably be read in a single sitting; hand this easily digestible volume to those who swear to prefer animated TV shows over reading.
