PASSENGER TO PEKING by J. Van Dyke

PASSENGER TO PEKING

By

Pub Date: Jan. 16th, 1934

This is Mr. Van Dyke's third book, and he still carries conviction of understanding the status of the foreign element in Peking (and elsewhere in China) -- but there is an unfortunate sameness to his situations. Always he seems to have his heroine ""in wrong"" with the female contingent and a subject of suspicion to the conventional male. But this book, like the others, is pleasantly easy reading, though not so good a book as we feel he could write.
