ARE YOUR TROUBLES PSYCHOSOMATIC?

On a more obvious level than Flanders Dunbar's Mind And Body (Random House- 1947) this is a popular presentation of psychosomatic medicine, the body-mind concept on which it is based, its emotional origins and physical manifestations. Why we become ill and repeat the pattern of illness; the mistakes, fears and guilts which may motivate disturbance -- and their redirection; sexual facets -- such as impotence and frigidity and homosexuality; the functional -- rather than structural --disorders -- allergies, ulcers, glands, obesity, arthritis, etc. in a partial coverage of ills which are largely psychosomatic. A last chapter, which prescribes means and methods of self-awareness, also indicates the ways in which you can overcome tension and pain -- without drugs.....There's not the fascination of the Dunbar book, but possibly a more general accessibility.
