KIRKUS REVIEW

One step removed from the comics, this is the second time out for ex-charter pilot Dan Connell, en route to a rubber plantation in Kuala Lumpur. On the initial boat trip there, he had briefly brushed up against a girl (later murdered), two unknowns he calls Mutt and Jeff, and the man he knows as Keith and they call Kerwin. There's a jungle trek full of red ants, leeches and crocodiles before he's once again exposed to Keith/Kerwin who wants something called the Red Fire and is willing to kill again for it. The writing's no great shakes even if it's in crashing Senssurround.
