TEMAGAMI GUIDE

A clean cut boy's story by a Canadian author tells of young Roy Humphrey's first summer as a guide on Lake Temagami near North Bay. Fired with the ambition to earn enough money for a husky pup, Roy gets the suggestion from a local ranger to try for the guide examinations. When he passes, his first job is with a Mr. Millikan, a wealthy mining man. But when Millikan leaves, Roy has a really tough assignment... with Jimmie Millikan, a year his senior and as spoiled as they come. Roy is frustrated with the boy's haughty lethargy, but with his own father's help he takes him on successfully. Jimmy profits from adventures that bring out his skills, Roy from taking on the responsibility, and Mr. Millikan from the realization that he should be spending more time with Jimmie himself.
