DR. SAX

At one point in this incoherent fugue, Doctor Sax says-"'In my ammenuosis shack, madame' (he chewed viciously on a cud of tobacco and sunk the chawcake in his inner backpockets till later). I realized that we were both crazy and had lost all contact with irresponsibility"..... You could let it go at that-but if you want to re-establish some sort of contact you could say, roughly, that these are the "scene-dreams" of a youngster, Jack (Kerouac) in a New England town, where Dr. Sax appears to him on the sandbanks- his "ghost, personal angel, private shadow, secret lover" and again" a mad fool of power, a Faustian man". In his last materialization, with his black cat, he summons all his arcane powers- and together they travel away- "into the moo mouth maw of death"- flying through the air to the Castle which is the Castle of the World.... Kerouac's vocabulary is at its most challenging, and you can cut your teeth on oiky-cloiky, grooking, weyic, groomus, mowurpy and dommerfall.
