KIRKUS REVIEW

George Herbert Henry, songwriting private eye, conducts an obstreperously surreptitious investigation of a bank holdup, and murder, in attempting to prove the innocence of a deaf doctor. Moving in and ahead of the police, Henry snatches a recent surgical case (the doctor's) from a hospital, loses him- to the killer, but manages to clear his client and collect. Lots of energy and effort, some of which shows and may annoy more orthodox tastes in homicide and humor.
