KIRKUS REVIEW

George Herbert Henry, who mixes songwriting with his sleuthing, takes the job of finding an old college friend's missing rifle but the locates a corpse before the gun. With his eye-stopping secretary, Steve, he plays games with the police, races around New York City, meets up with another body and trades in his offenses against the law for the real killers. Labors strenuously for its humor.
