KIRKUS REVIEW

The cop and the cleric again, Detective Sergeant Sammy Golden and Father Joseph Shanley, work out the department of damned coincidence when the killing of a young rabbi during strike riots in a California refinery town tie in with the disappearance of a carport girl. Bucking the iron hold of boss-man Kid Rio and his trained police force, they smoke out a hired hoodlum and put some starch in a lady mayor's government. Delinquency, dirt and death in unequivocal hardhitting.
