Sgt. Sammy Golden is tempted and tainted this time when the cyanide poisoning of a policeman, Don Wells, leaves him to deal with his murderer and a black market diamond king, Hans Kessener. But there is also the lovely Laura- whom he recognizes too late as the widow of the dead man and who is accused of Kessener's killing. Golden leaves her to his old friend, Father Shanley, for absolution- which he too must face after a further involvement with the disposition of the diamonds and the attraction of another woman.....
